1 - The funeral was really uplifting, if that's possible. I sat next to Bozzio and Keltner did a great marching drum thing as they walked the casket outside. Mike P had a great story about a drummer who broke into a restaurant, played the role of a waiter, waited on Jeff's table w/family and then confessed, "I'm not really a waiter, I just wanted to meet you Jeff."
2 - The really hard part was seeing Jeff's little boys, almost unaware of what was going on. I just kept staring at them with all the silence.
3 - That same evening Weckl did a clinic and played a tribute to Jeff, a half time shuffle groove.
2 - I was thinking that very same thing when looking at your posted pic of the headstone...
3 - I saw Weckl in clinic very shortly afterward AW. He did that very same thing, awa talked about JP, had the obligatory moment of silence, & dedicated the clinic to him...& then continued on to really tear it up [nothing 'relatively' new there...altho he even seemed inspired to go above & beyond his usual, if that's possible - doing things not necessarily characteristic of his now-famous individually unique style, if i may say that; def pushing the envelope & taking chances...he was really on fire that evening, from both before awa since, BION. Downright frightening, to get down to it...]
